One of my earliest tracks, but a bit less unkempt than it was eleven years ago. Probably still the most overtly prog-esque of the bunch, with three tempos and three (with two combining to make a fourth) time signatures.

The original version of this song was written to be performed by the band I was in, and was consequently designed to be playable in its entirety by no more than four men. This is no longer a requirement, and, with the inclusion of new plucked string, tubular bell, and choir parts, no longer possible. Despite this, I still consider it to be a metal song at its core.

While there is a "chorus" which appears twice, I consider the true "refrain" to be the 7/8 Phrygian dominant section that appears beneath part of each of the main instrumental solos.

This song used to have lyrics, but I am not myself a singer and I have no particular fondness for the lyrics at this time. So as for *what* is responsible for shattering the solitude, or what the "solitude" itself represents... you'll have to guess at that on your own.
