about

Harp Harmonics
Celesta

The harp, like the piano, can be seen to occupy a hazy liminal space between the percussion and string instrument families. Today, the harp is a gentle pitter-patter, perhaps of the rain itself, or perhaps of little feet wandering restlessly unable to sleep during a storm.

The melody is provided by the celesta. I imagine the melody as being a call-and-response between a child (G maj) and a parent (D maj).

In the context of video game music, I see this to be suitable as the theme for a character who is small, delicate, and perhaps a bit clumsy.
